No more tube

Becca is now off the vent!!! and doing great, keeping her saturation in the mid 90's with a bit of support from a canula in her nose. The extubation was very quick and easy, and Becca did great. My guess is that we will be in the ICU for at least another 24hrs for observation, but hopefully not much longer. Sadly, business is a little too good on the oncology floor; they are at or over capacity. We hope that does not delay our return to our "home" department. One other bit of news was that none of us are a great match for Becca. Trisha was the closest with 5 of 6 alleles matching. She could be used if it is an absolute necessity, but they have very high expectations that a closer match will be found. Her blood work looks good, and she is over the tumor lysis hump. Her WBC dropped like a stone again to the low single digits overnight. A very good day here! Thanks for all the positive energy, kind thoughts, healing crystals, and divine prayers... they seemed to have worked. EK

Such awesome news! When I read yesterday morning's blog, my eyes were so full of tears of relief that I had a difficult time reading. We'll continue to keep your whole family in our thoughts and prayers which include some big "thank you's" going up also. Love to all, Jan & Linda

I forget the reasoning why, but when we came back from ICU and the floor was full, we were told someone else would be moved because we had to be on the floor. I know it had something to do with Leah having AML. Hopefully that's the case for you too. So glad you guys had such a great day :)

My husband and I are continuing to pray for you all. I am so glad to hear things are going well. I pray you will get to go home soon. ;). Lily has been happy at school and has loved sharing her book you made her about Becca. She probably told you her flip flop broke the other day and made numerous trips to the nurse to fix it. It made us all laugh as she was trying to walk with it broken. ;). When I was carrrying Isaiah I found so much comfort in knowing that God loved him even more than I did. Through the journey, knowing God was in control helped me to trust Him with Isaiah's life. I pray for healing for Becca and for all of you to know His unbelievable love for you all during this challenging time. "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 -Megan Blazek

Wonderful News!! I feel like I pray for Becca and you guys with every breath. I think of you all so much, can't imagine...

Yesterday was our last big training run before the Pig.. 20 miles. The last 5 were really hard, and my husband could see I was fading but he turned to me and said, "Let's finish this... for Becca." We finished that training run stronger than ever. (3.5 hrs) We're still at $665 in donations but I'm very confident I can get it up to at least $700 before the Pig ;) I love reading the progress in Becca. I'll keep you posted on the CFK's progress! Hugs, Kari
